I've been browsing through my old collection of rock. I'm really big into the 70's, and expecially the 80's and early 90'srock. It's incredible some of the fantastic bands that have just been overlooked. For example. Has anyone heard of the band Tyketto? If you haven't, I'll suggest them for a long time. Danny Vaughn could possibly be the greatest on vocals in the 90's. He's still bringing out great shit now. What do you all think? Give some of the underappreciated bands of the time that I'm talking about if ya like.
Another, much more known band that doesn't get recognized is Damn Yankees. Nada-single person that likes the era can say they're bad. They're in fact, one of my favorite groups. only 2 albums, but they're good enough to be top sellers for years if that were something that happens in music..
Well, as I said...thoughts?

Those are excellent...You'd probably like "Tall Stories" too. Got a sound that can remind one a bit of Journey, as the vocalist did go on to sing for Journey in the earlyy part of this decade.

tall stories is my favorite album of all time. I listen to the album 1 or more times a week since last June when I finally found it

not only that, but the singer, Steve Augeri was the best one that Journey had. He certainly had the most impressive vocal range, and...just an unbelieveable tallent. He's right up there with Danny Vaughn, and Tommy Shaw a couple of my favorite vocalists

The damn yankees albums are fantastic! I like Ted Newget and I love styx but didn't actually get the two damn yankees albums until a couple years ago. They are very tight. Good writing, good production, great guitar solos, good vocals, etc. As far as under appreciated bands, some of my favorites are dream theater, skid row, fate's warning, warrent, winger, and frameshift.

I'm not much into the American glam rock bands (nor other nations for that matter) although there are occasional classics, I'll definitely check out the Damn Yankies.
The first two bands that do come to mind that broadly might be connected with this era or a bit later are Fugazi (brilliant band) and, more on the British / Irish side, a band called Therapy (with a question mark at the end). Their album TroubleGum was an absolut classic, was dubbed the European Nevermind by quite a few music magazines but never shifted huge amounts. I wouldn't say it's Nevermind, it's a different beast altogether but for any enthusiastic rock fan this album is absolutely a masterpiece, I prefer their oler and even better albums, such as "Nurse" but those are more freaky new wave rather than heavy duty rock n roll.
